Wellstar Cobb Hospital complaint alleges failure to treat cerebellar stroke

The complaint alleges that a patient was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with slurred speech, vomiting, high blood pressure, headache, dizziness, and generalized weakness.   3. Dr. Matthew Joseph Lee ordered a CT scan of the head without contrast but did not perform or document a complete neurological examination or order an emergent neurological consult.
  4. RN Johnray Resurreccion Manao failed to call a stroke alert on July 31, 2023.
  5. The patient was admitted to the hospital medicine service at Wellstar Cobb on August 1, 2023.
  6. An August 2, 2023 MRI showed a late acute or subacute infarct in the right cerebellum, but Dr. Garret Douglas Anderson allegedly failed to order a neurosurgery consult.
  7. The patient died at Wellstar Cobb Hospital on August 4, 2023.
